In Ontario, the practice of non-medical Osteopathy is not currently recognized by the Regulated Health Professionals Act (1991) in Ontario. This is important to know because many Osteopathic providers may not have the proper training to perform osteopathic services. This is concerning.
At PHASES, our Osteopathic Manual Therapists have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate education and clinical training. We are members of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths and a member of the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA). As part of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO), our members are recognized by all insurance companies.
Stay informed by going to www.OsteopathyOntario.org as we are committed to fostering the practice and professional advancement of osteopathy and pursue regulation in Ontario, ensuring safe, ethical Osteopathic practice.
